Product liability

The law on product liability is a result of an EC Directive. The regime is one of strict liability (without fault), requiring the victim only to prove a defect in a product, the damages suffered and the causal link between them. The law is completed by the legislation on consumer safety, the rules on tort liability and an extensive set of rules, of both national and EU origin, on the sale of consumer goods.
